I’m Patrick — a Physician Associate, dad, and someone who knows ADHD from the inside out. My family has been both blessed (and sometimes challenged) by it, and our story is what drives the work I do today.

💥 The Turning Point

When the Eaton Fire took our home, the trauma pushed me into therapy. And in those sessions, I discovered what I had always suspected: I had ADHD.

Suddenly, years of frustration and misunderstanding made sense.

👨‍👦 A Father’s Wake-Up Call

Meanwhile, my son was getting into constant trouble at school. Teachers saw defiance. I saw a hurting kid.

​

What we discovered changed everything: he wasn’t “bad,” and his brain wasn’t “broken.” It was simply wired differently.

With the right support — including lifestyle changes and targeted supplements — he went from angry and misunderstood… to calmer, connected, and thriving.

🔬 My Path Forward

I leaned into my training. After more than a decade in Emergency Medicine, I’d seen how clear thinking and quick action save lives. Later, functional medicine gave me another lens: how sleep, nutrition, stress, and movement shape our health at the root.

By blending those two worlds, I found a way to push back against the limits ADHD tried to place on us. And it worked — big time.

Our story shifted: less chaos, more calm, more connection. That transformation inspired me to create ADHD & Awesome — a place where families can finally find care that looks at the whole person, not just the prescription.

By that time, I had already earned a Doctor of Medical Science degree, completed a fellowship in Emergency Medicine, and gained certifications in functional medicine. But what truly set me on this path was living ADHD in my own home — not just studying it in textbooks.

Now, I bring both worlds together: deep clinical training and lived experience — to help families discover what’s possible when science, empathy, and real-world strategies meet.​
